Day 6 - Nepal 2008

This morning we escaped the chaos of Kathmandu and headed into the mountains. It was our first experience of Nepali buses and, having heard a little about them before we left, they didn't dissapoint. The morning was quite foggy and as we headed out through some pretty grubby Kathmandu outskirts our speed started to pick up.

Day 5 - 2008 RTW Trip

The Everest mountain flight was something Cat and I had talked about way before actually arriving in Nepal. Cat really wanted to see Everest somehow and, to be fair, I thought it would be pretty cool too. Our driver had other ideas though and it became obvious that even private cars aren't immune to the 'slight detour my friend, I know a very good shop with cheap, cheap prices!' To be fair to the guy though, he'd been really good up till then, and even now

Day 2

So, 2nd day in India and we were up at 6.45am to be in time for our 7.30am car. Obviously this wasn't taking into account the legendary organisational skills of the Hotel Ajanta though and it turned out that noone in the building knew anything about our booking and, oh, surprise of all surprises, the guy I talked to wasn't anywhere to be seen. This is where my suspicions proved founded and useful though as I'd insisted on a detailed receipt the day
